LocalPDF is designed inherently with absolute privacy in mind. We do not collect, process, or store any of your documents or chat data on our servers. All document processing, text extraction, embedding generation, and AI inference happens completely locally on your Mac using Apple's Neural Engine.
All data generated by LocalPDF (including vector databases, chat histories, and settings) is stored locally on your device's hard drive. You have complete ownership and control over this data. You can delete it at any time directly through the app interface or by deleting the app container.
Our app connects to the internet strictly to validate your LocalPDF Pro license key with our payment
processor (Polar.sh) and to check for app updates. We may collect anonymous crash reports strictly to
improve the app’s stability. This data never contains your chat logs, documents, or vectors.
We use Polar.sh to process payments securely. When you purchase LocalPDF Pro, Polar.sh collects the necessary billing information. LocalPDF never sees, stores, or processes your credit card details.
